McKyle, Grade 7, Power Academy
Power Academy really gave me a different experience about things that I do not know, and things that I’d like to try. At the end of the year they give out a paper that says, “What would you like to change about afterschool? What things would you like to learn?” Things like that. I say, I like that we’ll take some time to go outside at the end of the day but I’m also actually glad we learn new things. I like to learn. I like to occupy myself with something different each day of the week.
My first experience with robotics was when I was in the fourth grade in PS 175. Everybody was interested in it. And I know a lot of people in this school in eighth and seventh grade that really like robotics. I love robotics because I like doing things, accomplishing things that I’ve never done. Robotics just seems like something that could like keep me on my feet. It would be fun to get other people interested in it! You know, show them that you can occupy yourself with something new and it’s helpful for the brain.
